Indianapolis and Indiana Information  
    Arts Council of Indianapolis "If you think of Indianapolis as strictly checkered flags, you're missing the rest of the colorful picture. It's one that includes theatre and dance, museums and music, films and literature. Indianapolis has a diverse and thriving arts community of more than 150 professional and community performing, visual, literary, and media arts organizations and thousands of individual artists. Whether you're interested in historical museums or contemporary dance, you'll find it in Indianapolis." Contains links to many organizations, including the Artsgarden (owned by the Arts Council), where we will be having our Awards dinner.
    Children's Museum of Indianapolis bills itself as the world's largest children's museum. There's lots of fun and educational information for kids on their Web site, too. 

    Crowne Plaza Union Station. This is the Web site for the conference hotel. You can also make your reservations online. (Webmaster note: We haven't tried this yet. We're not sure that the online reservation feature will be compatible with any special conference rates.) 

    Indianapolis Dine.com. Restaurants, reviews, menus, maps that you can zoom in and out. This site lets you search for restaurants by various criteria: type of food/mood, type of restaurant (family, casual, fine dining, pizzeria, etc.), price, and entertainment. You can add your own reviews to the site. 

    Indianapolis, Indiana Fun & Entertainment Guide includes a Calendar of Events, including Art Exhibits & Special Attractions; Comedy Clubs;  Historical Sights & Museums, Movie Showtimes & Reviews, Music & Concerts, Something Fun & Different; Sporting News, and Theatre & Performing Arts 

    Indianapolis for Journalists: Indianapolis City Center provides information for reporters and others who want to know the who-what-when-where-why of Indy. The Web site includes a list of attractions and fun things to do, and numerous other categories, including events. There will be a Strawberry Festival, an Italian Festival, a Middle Eastern Festival, and the Talbott Street Art Fair (in the downtown historic district) while we are there. 

    Indianapolis Online. A comprehensive site of links of all kinds for residents and visitors, including weather information, travel information, and arts, entertainment, and recreation. 

    Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra Concerts on June 11 and 12 will feature Vaughan Williams' "The Wasps Suite," Roderigo's Concerto d'Ete, Haydn's Symphony No. 7, and Respighi's "The Birds." 

    Indiana State Parks and Reservoirs Includes detailed information on numerous park sites, including facilities, fees, directions. 

    Indy Racing League. Lots of information here on auto racing, including news, schedules, tickets, races, drivers, teams, standings, detailed history and stats, downloadable screen savers, and Shockwave games.

    Lycos CityGuide: Indianapolis. This site has information galore, including local news, celebrities from Indianapolis (including David Letterman and Kurt Vonnegut), tourist attractions, a some photographs. 

    National Park Service: Indiana parks. Although the three parks listed aren't exactly "next door" to Indianapolis, if you're spending extra time in the area and want to find a quiet place to spend an summer afternoon, consider researching (and supporting) the National Park Service. 

    Restaurant Guide.com for Indianapolis. Search for restaurants by type. Site lists name address, and phone and rating. 

    State Parks Online. If you are planning to drive to Indianapolis, this site may be helpful. It contains links to state park sites in all states.
