You have just a few days left to register at the early bird discount rate for
the ASI 33rd Annual Conference in Boston. About 70% of our hotel room block has been reserved, and some workshops are close to capacity, so if you are planning to come the conference, you need to move quickly.
We expect to have between 10 and 12 editors from Addison-Wesley, O'Reilly and the Massachusetts chapter of the Editorial Freelancers Association attend our Networking with the Editors lunch on Friday, June 1. With this many editors, it will be a real opportunity for indexers to network with potential employers and develop possible job opportunities. If you are interested in attending, please remember to check the box on the
registration form for this event, for which there is an additional fee.

- Alan Baker of Minnesota Public Radio will demonstrate their index to the MPR Sound Archives
- Bella Weinberg will discuss subject analysis of index entries
- Professor John Felts will discuss search engine fuzzy logic benchmarking
- Karen Spern will present a workshop on Thesaurus software
- 3 HTML/Web indexing workshops
- Plus indexing software workshops, special SIG workshops, and business management and indexing training programs for beginning and continuing indexers.
