| Editors Reception | |||
| Indexers, here’s a chance to meet and mingle with editors and publishers! A cocktail reception with hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar will give you a chance to network and exchange ideas and business cards. Editors, publishers, and in-house staff with responsibility for hiring indexers are welcome to attend free (please indicate your attendance on the registration form); in return all we ask is that you take a turn at the microphone letting us know your name, affiliation, and publication specialty. Indexers will need to register and pay a separate fee of $25 for this event. | |||

| Keynote Speaker Luncheon | |||
| Our keynote speaker this year is Bill Kasdorf, owner and president of Impressions Book and Journal Services. Impressions produces books and journals in print and electronic forms for a wide range of publishers-trade, professional, scholarly, scientific, and educational. In this talk, Bill Kasdorf will describe some of the current and emerging technologies fundamental to publishing in the digital era (especially XML and its family of standards) and discuss how indexers can provide the critical intelligence necessary to make the most of them, can participate earlier in the publishing process, and can add value not only to print and electronic publications but also to the electronic archives that will become publishers’ most valuable assets. | |||
