Accommodations
The conference hotel is the Hyatt Regency Vancouver located in
the heart of Vancouver's downtown business and shopping district and 20
minutes from the Vancouver International Airport. The hotel contact information
is:
Hyatt Regency Vancouver
655 Burrard Street
Vancouver, British Columbia
V6C 2R7 Canada
Tel: (604) 683-1234
Guest Fax: (604) 689-3707, located at the Front Desk
We've negotiated a rate of $199 Canadian (CAD), approximately $122 US
per night (plus applicable taxes) for the conference period, an excellent
value for this city.
We are very close to meeting our room block commitment at the hotel but,
as it stands today, will very likely have to pay meeting room rental charges
if our commitment is not realized. If you haven’t yet booked your
hotel room, or are currently booked at another hotel, please consider
making your reservation at the Hyatt, which is still offering the discounted
conference rate. You can book your reservations online at http://vancouver.hyatt.com/groupbooking/asoi,
or call 1-800-233-1234 (U.S. attendees only. Canadian attendees will receive
the discount through IASC/SCAD.) Please identify yourself as an ASI Meeting
attendee to receive the discounted rate.
Parking
Parking is available at the hotel, but not included in the room rate,
for:
24 hours (in & out privileges) $18.50 CAD or
Full Day Parking (no in & out privileges) $12.00 CAD

Travel Advisory
Vancouver is in Canada, and when crossing the border, travelers are required
to produce proof of citizenship. This is being more strictly enforced
in the wake of 9/11, and your car may be searched as well. For U.S. citizens,
a passport meets the requirement, or a birth certificate accompanied by
photo ID. You will also need some proof of your child's relationship to
you, such as his or her birth certificate and photo ID.
See http://www.ccra-adrc.gc.ca/customs/individuals/visitors-e.html
for details on visiting Canada from the U.S.
A passport is the best form of identification when crossing the border,
but it's too late now to obtain one by the usual means. If you really
want one, you can pay an extra fee for rush service. See http://travel.state.gov/passport_easy.html
for information on how to obtain a U.S. passport.
