This fast-paced session will cover tips and tricks—both simple and elaborate—enabling greater productivity in the use of CINDEX™ for Macintosh OS X. Handouts accompany the demonstrations, and time will be allowed for participants' questions.

Workshop 7: SKY Index Shortcuts: Efficient Editing
Presenters: Kari Kells and Kamm Schreiner

Take better advantage of SKY Index Professional's editing features. In this workshop, we'll explain techniques for using your software in more powerful ways. This includes using advanced Find/Replace options; understanding and working with Translations; creating Acronyms; customizing index style and format; and more. Through demos and active participation in small and large group exercises, attendees will walk away with practical tips for using SKY Index more efficiently.

Workshop 8: Creating Website Indexes
Presenter: Heather Hedden

This hands-on workshop instructs participants how to create back-of-the-book style indexes on websites or intranets. In addition to learning how to apply basic indexing concepts such as double-posting and cross references in online media, indexing techniques and tools specific to website indexing are presented. Knowledge of indexing theory is assumed. Prior experience with HTML is an advantage, but a review of HTML codes is provided so that participants with no prior HTML experience will find immediate practical value in this workshop. Presentation content, examples, and exercises come from Heather's very successful online course, which she has been teaching since 2005.

This fast-paced session will cover tips and tricks—both simple and elaborate—to make participants more productive in their use of CINDEX for Windows. Handouts will be provided to accompany the demonstrations.

Workshop 10: Solving SKY Index Puzzles: Connecting with Macros and Pattern Matching
Presenters: Kari Kells and Kamm Schreiner

In the right situations, macros and pattern matching can save a tremendous amount of time. This workshop helps you learn how to use these features and, even more important, when to use them. There will be an emphasis on class participation through use of practical, real-world examples. Attendees will walk away from this workshop with the ability to put macros and pattern matching to use in their own indexing.
