ASI is hitting the beach

Program on the way

The ASI Program Chair, Donna Drialo, is busy reviewing all the proposals that have been submitted for the 2012 conference. Digital trends will take a prominent spot on the program as will emerging issues within the industry. Watch for details coming soon.

Bahia Resort Hotel

The 2012 ASI Annual Conference will be held at one of the premier beach hotels in the area. This is a departure from the downtown hotels where recent conferences have been held. Sessions will be in a variety of the meeting rooms at the resort, including beachview rooms, windowed ballrooms and even rooms on a historic riverboat. This will be an experience not to be missed.

Bring the family and enjoy your San Diego vacation on Mission Bay's picturesque beach peninsula. This beautiful San Diego resort is situated near such popular local attractions as SeaWorld, Downtown's Historic Gaslamp District, and the World Famous San Diego Zoo.

Standard rooms: $139

Dear Ruth

I just returned from the Bahia Resort Hotel in San Diego, the site for ASI's 2012 Annual Conference. This location is unlike anything ASI has experienced. I can't wait until April for you to see it for yourself, but until then, I just have to tell you about my trip.

My room overlooked Mission Bay. I could walk out the sliding glass door, take ten steps and be on the water. Each evening, I watched fireworks over the bay while sitting on my patio.

I explored all the meeting space ASI will be using, all of it stunning. Receptions will be beachside. Breakfasts and lunches will be in a ballroom offering views of both sides of the bay, downtown, and the Pacific Ocean. Some seminars and workshops will be held under historic stained glass ceilings on the riverboats docked at the resort. Plus, this year there will be a dedicated networking room where you can talk to your peers in a relaxed, quiet setting.

A site visit isn't complete without exploring the area. The resort is just two blocks from Mission Beach. Restaurants line the boardwalk. I enjoyed a burger at a beachside spot. And I discovered a little gem that has the best tacos - ever!

Bring your family to the beach to enjoy boogie boarding, swimming, kayaking, and more (but remember the sunscreen - I didn't). Feeling more adventurous? Rent a bike and ride north to La Jolla cove for an afternoon of snorkeling.

I didn't get to watch a sunset. Maybe you can do it for me in April. See the ASI conference website for more details.

Sincerely,

Annette Rogers
