Call for Presentations

The 2013 Annual Conference will be held April 17-19
at the Hotel Contessa in San Antonio, Texas

 

 "The true secret of happiness lies in taking a genuine interest in all the details of daily life."

So said William Morris, the 19th century English textile designer who led the Arts and Crafts Movement. The movement stood for traditional craftsmanship using simple forms within a rapidly changing industrial age. Indexers are instinctively embracing this philosophy, using the art and craft of indexing to help give order to the digital publishing age.

"The Art and Craft of Indexing" is the theme of the upcoming conference in San Antonio, Texas, April 17-19, 2013, with workshops on Saturday, April 20 (note that the workshops will be held after the conference). We invite you to be on the program. Submit your proposals for breakout sessions and workshops today.

In keeping with our theme, we are interested in hands-on breakout sessions and workshops, opportunities for our attendees to practice what they learn. Breakout sessions may be 90 minute, one or two speaker sessions. We also encourage panel discussions and we especially encourage submissions from our SIGs. As always, participation from the greater publishing community is most welcome.

Post-conference workshops (Saturday) may be offered as half or full day, hands-on sessions.
