I index books, journals, and websites; and I create database records. These information organization skills and all but three of my subject specialties are rooted in my academic training.

Ethnic Studies
Food and Beverage (Culinary Arts)
Library and Information Science
Web Programming
Women’s Studies

* I am no longer open to the idea of indexing for organizations that can but have not yet published one title about one salient theme from the African diaspora, or have not yet published one work that was written or edited by an author of sub-Saharan African descent.

** Other projects, including unpublished sample indexes, are available upon request.

Your project, the complexity of its content, and your desired turnaround time will determine the cost(s). I will request a sample of the material that you want indexed before I make a quote.

Between 2013 and 2018, I served the profession of library and information science as a volunteer for the American Library Association and the Modern Language Association’s MLA International Bibliography, as an intern for the Archive of Contemporary Music and the New York Genealogical and Biographical Society, and as a fellow for the MLA International Bibliography. I continue to index for the MLA International Bibliography as a volunteer.

As an educator, I have taught post-secondary academic English in four foreign countries, developmental and academic writing to native and non-native English speakers online, and non-academic English in the US as well as online. I also spent six years as a homeschooling parent for grades 7 through 12.

In my free time, I enjoy cooking and baking, mixology, knitting, macramé, exercising (including dance fitness and Western yoga), foreign language learning, and reading.
