If you fly into Boston, ground travel to Portland is simple

If you prefer to fly in and out of Boston, the easiest and most direct way to get from Logan Airport to Portland is to take the bus. Concord Coach Lines has buses that leave Logan almost hourly, picking up passengers at all terminals. The bus trip takes 2 hours and 10 minutes, the current ticket prices are $29 one-way or $49 round trip, and the buses have free Wifi and power outlets. The buses arrive in Portland at the Portland Transportation Center. The Holiday Inn has agreed to provide their shuttle service to conference attendees arriving at that facility.

Additional options, if you travel from Boston

If you are not flying in, but still plan to go through Boston on the way to Maine, there are two options. In addition to the Logan departures, Concord Coach Lines has routes leaving from Boston's South Station almost hourly and arriving at the Portland Transportation Center. Buses have the same amenities as those from Logan. Travel time is about 1 hour and 55 minutes, and current ticket prices are $23 one-way and $39 round trip.

Train travel from Boston

If you prefer to take the train, Amtrak has service running out of Boston North Station. There are usually 5 trains per day, spread throughout the day. Travel time is approximately 2 and a half hours, and current ticket prices start at $20 for a one-way ticket. The train also arrives at the Portland Transportation Center, and so attendees will be able to call for a hotel shuttle from there.

Easy parking if you choose to drive

If you are driving, ASI has arranged for free parking in the parking garage that is attached to the conference hotel.

Travel via Manchester, New Hampshire

The airport in Manchester, New Hampshire, is often considered an alternative to flying into Boston. Airfares in and out of Manchester can be significantly cheaper than those in and out of Boston, depending on where you are flying from. Mermaid Transportation offers bus service between the Manchester and Portland airports. The cost is $90 per person, one-way, and the trip takes two hours. The buses run 7 days a week, twice daily.
