I was elected as treasurer and served the Pacific Northwest Chapter of the American Society for Indexing in 2017. My indexes are living navigational aids, breathing finding tools that reflect the tone and structure of your book. I primarily index scholarly books within social sciences and natural sciences, with a bit of humanities for good measure. I also selectively work on textbooks and trade projects of all types. Many of the titles I have indexed are anthropological and my grant-funded undergraduate research in microbial ecology prepared me well for indexing natural sciences and textbooks. I managed records for Safeco Insurance and the State of Washington for three years. My volunteer experience is extensive, including six full-time months with the US National Wildlife Refuge System and a year of monthly seabird mortality surveys with NOAA.
