A professional indexer since 2006, I provide back-of-the-book, embedded, and database indexing in a wide range of subjects, including history, literary criticism, business, cookbooks, and education. A generalist by nature, my background as a former public librarian helps me anticipate the indexing needs of a wide range of readers.
I am committed to providing quality indexes on time and to your specifications. Each project is unique, however, and I am comfortable finding indexing solutions that work best for you and your text. My rates are reasonable, and I am happy to provide estimates. Rush jobs are considered.
My indexing education includes the USDA Graduate School Basic Indexing Course, the USDA Graduate School Applied Indexing Course, and numerous continuing education workshops at local and national conferences. I also have BA in English.
Nine years as a public and corporate librarian contribute to my indexing skills, both in terms of subject matter and understanding how readers search and use information. As a corporate librarian, I became very familiar with the automotive and airline industries as well as corporate communications.
On a personal note, my passions are cooking, dance, and reading. I am always interested in projects that touch on these areas. I collect and write about cookbooks, teach Argentine Tango, and have ballet training.
